The ComSoc Student Tech Leadership Conference was developed to expand the foundational understanding of students to IEEE and ComSoc activities that are designed to grow career professionals in the field. Keynotes are given by industry experts who share insights and guidance on professional career development, such as choosing mentors, pursuing advanced degrees and other career topics. The conference will include panel discussions and breakout sessions with professionals from industry and academia, where a range of topics on career growth will be discussed. This conference was designed for students to become tech leaders!
This conference is being held a day before the IEEE WCNC 2022 conference, also in Austin.
This is not your typical IEEE/ComSoc conference with a host of technical paper presentation, rather this conference is tuned to help bridge the gap from being a student to being a professional (e.g., getting paid for what you do rather than paying to learn). Our profession is a very creative one and it takes many forms of technical leaders to continue the relentless advancements in or field of communications. We are bringing together leaders in our field to share with the attendees their wisdom, insight and possibly even a cleaver observation or two for the next generation of leaders in our field.
ComSoc has made this conference very affordable and chosen a central location to improve the opportunity for as many students to participate as possible. Student ComSoc members, US$20, Student IEEE members US$25, Non-member students, US$50. Nonmembers price includes Student Comsoc membership for one year.
This is not a conference where papers are presented, this conference is focused on developing our future leaders in industry and academy.
