Sylvia Karmanoff, Independent Consultant
Sylvia Karmanoff is an innovator, entrepreneur, mentor, and trusted advisor. She is helping companies enter new markets and create new monetization strategies through applications of emerging technologies. Sylvia’s innovations include: first use of wireless technology for remote diagnostics and prognostics of vehicle systems; first remote monitoring system for artificial hearts and LVADs; use of facial recognition for traveler tracking and security; and first use of virtual reality in manufacturing engineering.
Before retiring, Sylvia served as CTO for the transportation industry (planes, trains, and automobiles) at DXC Technologies and at Intel. Prior to Intel, Sylvia founded and lead a boutique consulting firm, providing product innovation and product management services. Their clients spanned multiple industries, including connected vehicle, medical device, travel & transportation, oil & gas, manufacturing, and logistics.
Sylvia has won several industry awards, is a patent holder and invited speaker on innovation. Her higher education degrees include an MS in Computer Science and an MBA. Her interests include international dance, world music, and helping people advance in their career. These days, you’ll find Sylvia behind a keyboard, trying to write.
